The national flag of Argentina has a classic form. Its colors are mild to attract attention to the main emblem which is the bright sun on the white background in the center of the field.
The meaning of the colors and the sun in the center
Among the specialists, there are different opinions about what the colors of the national flag mean.
The first group thinks that blue color symbolizes the sky and white color symbolizes the clouds. The second version relates to the mythology. According to it, the flag symbolizes the silver river. There is another religious version, some people think these colors relate to clothes of Saint Maria because she always wore dresses of such colors.
The history of the flag
This flag has been used since 1812. On the first variant, there were two white stripes and one blue one. The sun added which symbolized the God of fertility and wealth. Nowadays Argentina is the only country which has two official flags. The version without an emblem of the sun in the center is a holiday version and the flag with a flag in the center is a ceremonial one. During official holidays ceremonial flag is higher but in other situations these two flags are equal.
