Bangladesh Republic is a small country situated in south Asia and surronded by the terrotory of India. During its history the territory was under the rue of different countries so the first symbol of the Republi was a flag of Eastern Pakistan. It as a green field with a white cresent and a star. In 1971 after the Republic was declared indepenent the first flag of Bangladesh was set up. The field was gree with a red circle near the center in the circle there as a picture of a shape of the country. But on the modern version the shape of the country was eliminated from the flag. The modern flag is a green field with a red circle in the center.
At the beginning of the XX century the country was split up according to dominating religion. One part became Indian the other was a part of Pakistan. The struggle for the country`s souvereinity started in 1970`s since that time politic regime has changed several times but the country remained independent.
The meaning of the national colours
Green colour is a symbol of the main religion islam and the fertility of the soil and the nature of the region. Red colour is a sign of the struggle of the citizens for the independence.
