The national flag of Czech Republic consists of a blue triangle on the left and two horizontal stripes. Before this flag was used by Czechoslovakia but in 1993 when the country split up the flag remained the same.
History of the flag
There are many theories and even myths concerning the usage of this colours in the national flag. Some people think that initially the flag of the country had only two stripes red and white ones. It was similar to the national flag of Poland and it is explained but the friendship etween these countries.
Nowadays the specialists in heraldic think that blue is a symbol of peaceful sky, white means peace and clear intentions and red symbolises blood of patriots who struggled for the national independence. The State exists on the terrotory of the country since XX century but the flag was chosen in XX. Before there were several variants of the flag mainly consisting of to colours white and red. The 14 november is an official birthday of the national flag. When the country was divided into two there was an issue of changing the flag but people from Slovakia didn`t like tricolor so the national flag remained the same.
