Flag Of Guinea

The national flag of Guinea was adopted soon after the flag of Ghana. It is because these to countries were in close cooperation that time within the African movement for independence. The flag represents a tricolor with green, yellow and red bands. Each of these stripes have a symbolic meaning. Red color is a symbol of blood that patriots shed during their war for independence. Green color is a symbol of nature and agriculture like in many other countries of Pan African region. A yellow band have two meanings: it is a symbol of the sand and savannas African continent is rich in. This flag is near identic to the national symbol of Rwanda but the last one can be differentiated from the national symbol of Guinea by a letter R imprinted of the center of the field at the same time the shape of color remains identic. It is also interesting to note that a design of the national flag was adopted in cooperation with a vice president of Ghanna.
