History of the Hungarian flag
Flags appeared in Hungary almost since the creation-in the 9th century. They were mostly scarlet or red.
In 10 – 14th century collected the bulk of the banner – a few white and red stripes that alternated between them. The stripes were taken from the family coat of arms of the Arpads. Also present on the banner was the cross of St. Stephen. Green added to 1305 At the moment of creation, it represents three green hills that were at the bottom of a six-pointed cross. A flag in its present design is used on the territory of this country since 1848 after the civil war finished.
All these parts were somehow used at different times on the flag of Hungary, but the modern look has three stripes, the colors of which throughout history accompanied Hungary.
