The national flag of Kazakhstan was adopted soon after the USSR split up and the country became sovereign. The national symbol was chosen on the basis of national contest, each variant was analised and approved by the current president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev.
The flag of Kazakhstan is a light blue rectangular field. In the center of the field there is a sun with 32 rays and below the sun we can see a flying eagle. On the left of the flag there is a band reassembling traditional ornament. All decorative elements are made in gold.
Light blue in traditional color is always a symbol of honesty and loyalty. In addition in Kazakhstan culture like in many others blue is a symbol of peaceful sky. Yellow means wealth and fertility of the country`s soil. Eagle on the emblem is used as a symbol of wisdom and power. A flying eagle depicts that citizens are aimed at better future.
This design of the flag is considered to be the best national symbol as it entirely represents the spirit of the country, its history and core politic values.
