Mongolian flag changed a lot during the existence of the state on the territory. Nowadays it consists two equal parts red and blue.
Red part of the flag symbolizes a historic period of 1920 time that a State on the territory was formed. Blue band is a symbol of peaceful sky over the country. At the right part of the flag there is a yellow traditional symbol of Mongolia standing for the eternity and the beginning of everything. To vertical triangles on both sides of the symbol signify friendship and commitment. This symbol may be explained that the unity is one of the core values of the country. This symbol may be regarded under the other angle. Some people think that this symbol stands for the souls of their ancestors. Respect to their past is a part of Mongolian national culture. Rectangles at the bottom and the top symbolize fairness and justice. Local people believe that this features are key for the local people national character.
