Flag of Nepal is the only flag of the world having non rectangular form. This flag is also known as double penon. Rhododendron red is used on the field, The boarder of the flag is blue which is a symbol of peace. This flag was adopted in 1962 before the national symbol with the sun the cresent moon and human faces was used but then it was removed to modernize the flag.
After principalities of Nepal were united a new flag was put in use. This flag incorporates several meanings. Red is used to symbolize bravery of local people. A blue color represent harmony and peace. these colors are often found in local work of arts. Celestial bodies are included to represent Nepal`s permanence and it is used to express the hope that this country will prosper as long as the Sun and the moon. Sun is also used as a symbol of the fierce character of local people.
