The current territory of New Zealand was a former British colony. But the Union Jack and other symbols of British rule were left on the flag as a symbol of Historic justice.
The flag is a blue field with a Union Jack at the hoist as a symbol of the country`s colonial dependence upon Great Britain. In the former British colony, which was new Zealand land, still flaunts British symbols on the flag, in memory of those troubled times. On a bright blue background of the New Zealand flag flaunt four red stars with five corners. In the upper left corner, there is a British symbolism in the form of “Union Huys”. It is this sign and shows belonging to the colonies of the British Empire. Left on the modern banner of New Zealand in tribute to historical justice.
Four stars repeat the stars of the constellation of the southern cross, which adorned the flag of the unification of all the tribes of the indigenous people of New Zealand Maori.
This symbol of statehood was approved in 1902 and has never changed. The colors of the flag include three color pigments: red, blue, white. Most of the space is blue. On commercial, aircraft color changes to the basic red or white.
