The flag of Saint Lucia is on the cerulean blue field. Closer to the center of the flag there is a yellow triangle with a white-edged black triangle.
National colors of the country have political, historical and cultural meaning. Blue represents water especially the Pacific ocean. Black and white triangles represent the harmony between black and white races of the continent. Yellow is a symbol of sunshine as well as prosperity. Triangles on the flag were not chosen accidentally. Triangles are symbols of volcanoes a national symbols of the country.
This country is quite small and its story is short too. But it must be noted that local people treat its history and national symbols with great respect. They believe that patriotism should be taught since childhood and for that reason, they organize special patriotism lessons at schools where children are told the company`s history and taught to respect its heroic pastimes.
