Description of the flag of the Seychelles
The national flag of Seychelles was officially adopted on 18 June 1996. The proportions of the flag are 1 to 2.
The flag of Seychelles consists of five oblique bands extending from left to right. These bands are blue, yellow, red, white, and green. The colors red, white, and green are the colors of the Progressive front party of the people of Seychelles, while white and yellow are the colors of the Autonomous party of Seychelles.
Blue represents the sky as well as the sea; yellow represents the sun; red represents the harmony of the people of Seychelles, but it also represents justice; green represents the abundant vegetation of the earth. The expansion of the bands on the flag means the development and vigor of the inhabitants of Seychelles. On the top of that local people believe that this flag is very good as a national symbol because it reflects the country`s core values and national spirit.
