Flag Of Texas

The flag consists of a rectangular panel with the ratio of height to length as 2:3. The flag is divided into two equal horizontal stripes, the upper one is white and the lower one is red. On the left (near the Flagstaff) is a vertical blue stripe 1/3 of the length of the flag. In the center of the blue stripe is a five-pointed star of white color. The diameter of the circumscribed circle of the star is 3/4 of the width of the blue stripe. Shades of colors of the flag are the same as the US flag.

The flag of Texas is known as the flag of the lone star (Lone Star Flag). This flag was presented to the Congress of the Republic of Texas on December 28, 1838, by Senator William H. Wharton. It was approved as the official flag of the Republic of Texas on January 25, 1839.

The Republic of Texas signed the Treaty of entry into the United States, becoming the 28th state of the Union on December 29, 1845. The flag of the Republic became the flag of the state. When in 1879 all civil laws of the new state were canceled due to the review of the national government, the symbols officially stopped their functioning as well. The flag was re-established only in 1933. Thus, in the state formally did not have its flag before this year.
